AN ORDINANCE CENTRALIZING THE BUYING AND SELLING OF COPRA AND
OTHER LOCAL PRODUCT OF MARIBOJOC IN THE PUBLIC MARKET

Be it ordained by the Municipal Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Bohol, that:

ARTICLE I PURPOSE

SECTION 1: To augment the revenue of our local Municipal Treasurer;

SECTION 2: To augment the volume of business in the public market.

SECTION 3: To give a fair and equal copra price to all copra producers.

ARTICLE II MECHANICS OF BUYING AND SELLING THE COPRA AND LOCAL PRODUCTS

SECTION 4: All local products would be sold inside the public market of this municipality.

SECTION 5: All copra products should be weighed inside the public market’s standard weighing scale for ticket purposes.

SECTION 6: Other local products such as mats, baskets, crops and etc., will be issued ticket as provided for in our Local Tax Code.

SECTION 7: Producers or sellers of copra should pay one centavo (P0.01) per kilo of their copra to the municipality.

SECTION 8: All Barangay Councils and Kabataang Barangay Councils would be given authority to help implement this ordinance in their respective barangays.

SECTION 9: Clerks from the municipal treasurer’s office would be assigned to weigh and issue tickets to all persons concerned, taking notes of their respective barangay addresses.

ARTICLE III LICENSE FEES

SECTION 10: All copra buyers should pay a license fee of P240.00 per annum or P60.00 per quarter before he is allowed to do business.

SECTION 11: All mat buyers should pay a license fee of P200.00 per annum or P50.00 per quarter before he is allowed to do business.

ARTICLE IV INCOME

SECTION 12: An income deriving from each barangay of their products-one fourth (1/4) of their copra ticket income should be given to the barangay.

SECTION 13: The share of the barangay should be given every end of the month to the barangay treasurer concerned.

ARTICLE V PENALTY

SECTION 14. For any person, partnership, company or entity engaged in copra buying who violates any provision or provisions of this ordinance shall pay a fine of not less than FIFTY PESOS (P50.00) nor more than ONE HUNDRED PESOS (P100.00) or an imprisonment of not less than FIVE (5) days or not more than TEN (10) days or both shall be imposed upon the discretion of the court.

SECTION 15. For any person, partnership, company or entity who sales copra products who violates ant provision or provisions of this ordinance shall pay a fine of not less than TWENTY FIVE PESOS (P25.00) nor more than FIFTY PESOS (P50.00) or an imprisonment of not less than THREE (3) days or not more than FIVE (5) days or both shall be imposed upon the discretion of the court.

ARTICLE VI REPEALING CLAUSE

SECTION 16. All ordinances of parts thereof inconsistent with the present ordinance are hereby repealed.

ARTICLE VII EFFECTIVITY

SECTION 17. This ordinance shall take effect on the 16th of June, 1976.

RESOLVED, that the foregoing Municipal Ordinance No. 1, series of 1976 be and hereby is approved, furnish copies.

THEREFORE, the Provincial Treasurer, City of Tagbilaran, the Municipal Treasurer, Maribojoc, Bohol, and other authorities concerned for their information, consideration, approval and appropriate action.
