AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3, OF MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE NO. 08, SERIES OF 2006; RE: AN ORDINANCE ON THE OPERATION OF BILLIARD GAMES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARIBOJOC, BOHOL.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Bohol, that:

SECTION 1 – REGULATED SCHEDULE IN THE OPERATION OF BILLIARD HALLS:

A.) Billiard Halls shall operate only from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M.
B.) 15 years olds but below 18 shall only be allowed to play on the following regulated
schedules, to wit:

DAYS TIME

1. Sundays – Thursday 9:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M.
2. Fridays, Saturdays and on
days before a holiday 9:00 A.M. –10:00 P.M

SECTION 2 – PROHIBITIONS:

1. Minors, below 15 years old, shall never be allowed to loiter within the billiard hall
premises.
2. Betting, except the payment of game fees/charges that may be shouldered by the loser, is strictly prohibited.
3. Smoking inside the billiard hall must be discouraged.
4. No elementary and/or high school students should be allowed to play during class hours.
5. Mahjong and card games are strictly prohibited inside the billiard halls.

SECTION 3 – PENALTY. Violation on any of the following provisions shall be fined according
to the following schedule of penalties, to wit:

A.) FOR PLAYERS:

1ST Offense – P 200.00 or community service of two (2) days
2nd Offense – P 300.00 or community service of three (3) days
3rd Offense – P 500.00 or community service of five (5) days

B.) FOR OPERATORS:

1ST Offense – P 500.00 or community service of five (5) days
2nd Offense – P 1,000.00 or community service of ten (10) days
3rd Offense – P 1,500.00 or community service of fifteen (15) days and
revocation of business permit

Community service may be rendered in the Municipality-owned establishments of the LGU such as, but not limited to, the municipal buildings and plaza, public market, municipal cemetery, municipal nursery, the waterworks pumping stations and their surroundings or as may be recommended by the Local Chief Executive.

SECTION 4 – REPEALING CLAUSE: Any ordinance or provisions of such ordinance(s)
inconsistent to the provision(s) of this ordinance is deemed repealed and/or amended.

SECTION 5 – EFFECTIVITY. – This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.

Let copies of this ordinance be furnished, the Chief of Police, all Punong Barangay and all Chief Tanod for their information, guidance and implementation.
