AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5 OF ORDINANCE NO. 8 SERIES OF 1996 RE: PROHIBITING THE EXCAVATION, DIGGING AND CUTTING OF TREES WITHIN 50 METERS RADIUS FROM ANY EXISTING NATURAL SPRING IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARIBOJOC, BOHOL.

WHEREAS, Section 5 of Municipal Ordinance No. 8 series of 1996 listed only 22 recorded natural springs in the office of the Municipal Planning and Development Council, (Sec 19E pp72 in the Code of General Ordinances);

WHEREAS, fourteen (14) more natural springs in the municipality were not included in the mentioned section as record shows;

WHEREAS, some barangay LGU’s had seek assistance and allocated funds for the development of said natural springs;

WHEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Sangguniang Bayan that:

SECTION 1: Section 5 of Ordinance No. 8 series of 1996 shall include the following in the record of natural springs in the municipality:

1. Abacanhan Spring – Bayacabac
2. Tubod-Ilage “Atabay” – Aliguay
3. Santo Niño – Bato – Cabawan
4. Guiwanon Spring – San Vicente
5. Sagmonan Spring – Dipatlong
6. Matan-ag Spring – Toril
7. San Isidro (cave) – Jandig
8. Saun Spring – San Isidro
9. Cambote Spring – San Isidro
10. Sudlon Spring – Pagnitoan
11.Cobcobon Spring – Punta Cruz
12. Bood Spring (Unnamed) – Bood
13. Kukab Centro – Tinibgan
14. Lagtangon Spring (Unnamed) – Lagtangon

SECTION 2: The aforemention natural spring covers the prohibitions and provisions stated in the sections of this ordinance.

SECTION 3: The ordinance shall take effect upon its approval and copies be furnished to the concerned barangays for their information and guidance.
