AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING A REGISTRATION FEE ON WEIGHING SCALE (WEIGHS AND MEASURES) IN THE AMOUNT OF SEVEN PESOS (P7.00) ONLY PER ANNUM FOR ALL BUSINESSMAN IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARIBOJOC, BOHOL

Be it ordained by the Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Bohol, that:

Sec. 1- Definition of Terms:

a. Weights and Measures or Weighing Scale – – it is an instrument used in
ascertaining or weighing the weight of a thing. This instrument is used
by businessmen to find the quantity of a matter of payment purposes.

Sec. 2 – It is unlawful of any businessmen, merchant or group of businessmen using weights and measures without first securing a permit from the Municipal Treasurer’s Office of Maribojoc, Bohol.

Sec. 3 – The weights and measures or weighing scale shall be registered in the Municipal Treasurer’s Office from January 1-20 of every year of purposes of registration and to check-up whether the weighing scale is still in good condition and worthy for business operation.

Sec. 4 – There shall be a registration fee of P7.00 to be collected from the owner of the weighing scale to cover the cost of the seal and wire and other cost of materials in the registration of such instrument for business operation.

Sec. 5 – The weights and measurers found to be defective during this registration period shall not be registered and it should be withheld by the Municipal Treasurer’s Office so that it will be repaired and calibrated and the cost of the repair shall be paid by the owner of the weighing scale before it will be registered by the MTO.

Sec. 6 – Any owner who shall not register his weighing scale during the registration period from January 1-20 of every year shall be fined in the amount of P200.00 after the inspection team from the Municipal Treasurer’s Office shall have conducted an inspection of all weights and measures in the municipality of Maribojoc, Bohol.

Sec. 7 – That this ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
