RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HON. LEONCIO B. EVASCO, JR., MUNICIPAL MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT (DSWD), FIELD OFFICE VII, CEBU CITY, REPRESENTED BY ITS REGIONAL DIRECTOR, TEODULO R. ROMO, JR. FOR THE SUPPLEMENTAL FEEDING PROGRAM IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARIBOJOC, BOHOL.

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Maribojoc adopt the “Supplemental Feeding Program” the governments National Feeding program to be referred to in this Agreement as the Program is the provision of food in addition to the regular meals to children in Day Care Centers and other indigenous items as the food supplement to be supplied by the selected suppliers at local levels to feed the pre-identified pre-elementary and Grade I school children;

WHEREAS, the Food for School rice distribution scheme (1 kg. Rice per day per child) aims to mitigate hunger of poor families and improve children’s attendance in (DSWD) Day Care Centers and (DepEd) Grade I and preschool classes;

WHEREAS, improved nutritional status of children is considered as an indirect program result since rice is also a source of calorie, protein, and vitamins to the body;

WHEREAS, the Local Government Unit by virtue of the devolution in 1992 is primarily responsible for the delivery of basic services like Supplemental Feeding among malnourished children in coordination with the Day Care Services like Supplemental Feeding with the Day Care Service Parents Groups.

WHEREFORE, be it resolved as it is hereby resolved to authorize Hon. Leoncio B. Evasco, Jr., Municipal Mayor to Enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department the Local Chief Executive to enter into and sign a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field VII, Cebu City, represented by its Regional Director, Teodulo R. Romo, Jr., for the Supplemental Feeding Program in the Municipality of Maribojoc;

RESOLVED FURTHERMORE, that copies of this resolution be furnished to the Regional Director Teodulo R. Romo, Jr., Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD, Field Office VII, Cebu City and Local Chief Executive for their information and guidance.
