CREATING THE LOCAL COUNCIL FOR WOMEN IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARIBOJOC, BOHOL, PROVIDING FOR ITS FUNCTIONS AND COMPOSITIONS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Be it ordained by the Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Bohol, that.

SECTION 1. Republic Act No. 7192. otherwise known as the “Women in Development and National Building Act” ensures women to have equal rights and opportunities with women in society.

SECTION 2. The law mandates all government agencies in the national and local levels to involve the women sector in the implementation of their programs / projects and activities, particularly planning and legislation;.

SECTION 3. To strengthen the advocacy of women empowerment, it is imperative that a collective effort shall be undertaken especially in the local level of implementation in the municipality & barangay.

SECTION 4: To ensure widest participation of women to get involved in the social, civic and political activities within the jurisdiction of the Local Government Unit, there shall be a council to be created to serve as a vehicle in the mainstreaming of women in the pursuant of peace, equality and sustainable development.

SECTION 5: There shall be a Local Council for Women to be created in the Municipality of Maribojoc, Bohol with the following composition to wit:
Chairperson – { to be appointed by the Municipal Mayor }
Members – { 1 } Representative of Women Sector – To be chosen by
the civil Society ( from NGO, Professional groups }
– Peoples Organizations [ 3 members ]
– Community Organizations [ 3 members ]
Secretary – { To be chosen by the Council }
Treasurer – { To be chosen by the Council }

SECTION 6: The “Local Council for Women “shall be the governing body of all Women organizations in the Municipality of Maribojoc, Bohol.

SECTION 7: Effectivity.- This ordinances shall take effect upon approval.

Let copies be furnished the Municipal Mayor, NGO, Professional Groups, People’s Organizations, Community Organizations and others for their information and guidance of all concerned in Maribojoc, Bohol.
