AMENDING SEC. 2- 1 OF MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE NO. 1, SERIES OF 2000.

WHEREAS, Sec. 2 specifically letter I of the Municipal Ordinance No. 1, Series of 2000, states that interment of indigents and other extreme cases as recommended by the DSWD office shall be accommodated at the designated niches free from charges;

WHEREAS, due to financial constraints, the LGU was able to construct only (10) niches and with the available local funds, can only construct limited number of niches within the succeeding fiscal year;

WHEREAS, as of today, five (5) of the niches, are already occupied, three (3) of which are indigents; leaving only five (5) available niches;

WHEREAS, with this premise, it is deemed necessary to accommodate indigents and other extreme cases in a place other than in the niches, which is to be designated by the offices of the Municipal Engineer;

WHEREFORE, be it ordained that:

SECTION 2: Change word “niches” IN Sec. 2-1 into “area”.

SECTION 2: Add the provision “after five (5) years, the skeletal remain shall be
transferred to the skeletal remain grave”, in Sec. 2-1

SECTION 3: Revised provision in Sec. 2-1 shall read: “Interment of indigents and other
extreme cases as recommended by the DSWD Office shall be accommodated at the area designated by the office of the Municipal Engineer, free from charges as mentioned in Section 3 of this ordinance. After five (5) years, the skeletal remain shall be transferred to the skeletal remain graves..

SECTION 4: Municipal Ordinance No. 1, Series of 2000 shall be modified accordingly,
and be furnished to concerned LGU offices and be made available to the would-be clients.

SECTION 5: The prepared site plan and specification shall be also modified accordingly.

SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
