AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING ALL COCONUT OWNERS TO CUT OR DESTROY DEAD COCONUT TREES IN THEIR RESPECTIVE LOTS.

Be it ordained by the Municipal Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Bohol, that:

Section 1 – Towering dead coconut trees are the breeding places of coconut beetles the number one enemy of coconut trees.

Section 2 – The complete destruction of unserviceable trees to prevent the increase of these undesirable pests is necessary.

Section 3 – Trees which endanger the public safety shall be cut off and burnt down.

Section 4 – Any person or group of persons found violating the intention of this ordinance shall be subject to a fine of P10.00 per trunk or an imprisonment of the number of days equivalent to the total fine or both at the discretion of the court.

Section 5 – This ordinance takes effect upon approval.
