AN ORDINANCE ALL PUBLIC UTILITY VEHICLES PASSING ALONG MARIBOJOC NATIONAL HIGHWAY TO PROVIDE GARBAGE CONTAINERS IN THEIR RESPECTIVE VEHICLES.

WHEREAS, consistent with the Operation Hinlo program of this present administration, there is a need to involve the jeepney drivers and operators in order to promote the sanitary condition of the streets and highways in the municipality;

WHEREAS, it is the duty of the Sangguniang Bayan to enact the necessary measures which will provide for an efficient and effective system of solid waste disposal and garbage collection and prohibit littering and the placing, or throwing of garbage refuse and other filth and waste;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Sangguniang Bayan in the Municipality of Maribojoc, Bohol in their session duly assembled, that:

SECTION 1: To ensure the maintenance of cleanliness of the streets and highways in the municipality, every operator and driver of all public utility vehicle passing along Maribojoc National Highway, shall be required to provide garbage containers in their respective vehicles;

SECTION 2: The garbage containers shall be in a form of a can and other uncombustible materials which in size should not be less than 5 inches in length; 5 inches in width and 3 inches in thick and shall be properly covered.

SECTION 3: The said garbage containers shall be placed in a conspicuous place within the vehicle wherein passengers can easily put their fruit peels, wrappers and any of their garbage during their travel;.

SECTION 4: It shall be the duty of the drivers and operators to properly dispose the deposited garbage in the garbage containers upon the arrival in their destination;

SECTION 5: It shall be the duty of the members of the Philippine National Police assigned in the municipality to conduct frequent ocular inspection of all public utility vehicles routing Maribojoc-Tagbilaran to ensure the effective and efficient enforcement of the provisions of this ordinance;

SECTION 6: Any violation of Sections 1,2, 3 and 4 of this ordinance shall be fined of not less than One Hundred Pesos )P100.00) or an imprisonment of not less than one (1) week or both at the discretion of the Court;

SECTION 7: Any provision of an ordinance which are inconsistent to the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed repealed and nullified accordingly.

SECTION 8: This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.

Let copies be furnished to all Operators and Drivers of vehicles passing in the Municipality of Maribojoc for their information and compliance.
