AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE USE OF BOOSTER PUMP OR SEMILAR DEVICES TO DRAW / EXTRACT WATER FROM THE MAIN OR LATERAL PIPES OF THE MARIBOJOC WATERWORKS SYSTEM

BE IT ORDAINED, by the Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Bohol, that:

SECTION 1: The use of the booster pump or similar devices to draw / extract
water directly from the distribution pipes of the Maribojoc Waterworks System is prohibited. Water from the said distribution pipes could only be drawn, diverted by gravity passing thru or registered by a watermeter unless otherwise stipulated in the contract of connection. Provided further that booster or similar devices may be used but the water shall be drawn /extract from an intake tank with a vent. The installation of a vent should be supervised by the personnel of the Maribojoc Waterworks System.

SECTION 2: Pursuant to P.D. No. 401, the use or tolerating the use of tampered
or non working watermeter is prohibited and therefore declared illegal. Water passing thru tampered or non working meter are considered stolen or pilfered.

SECTION 3: Pursuant to P.D. No. 401, the aforecited, any person who installs
any water connection without previous authority, tamperes and/ or uses tampered meter or other devices whereby water is stolen, steals or pilfers water, knowingly posses stolen or pilfered water shall upon conviction be punished by prision correctional on its minimum period or a fire ranging from Two Thousand to Six Thousand Pesos (P2,000.00 to P6,000.00) or both. If the violation is committed with the connivance or permission of an employee or officer shall upon conviction be punished by a penalty one degree lower than prison correctional in its minimum period and forthwith be dismissed and perpetually disqualified from employment in any public or private utility or service company.

SECTION 4: That any person or group of persons who violates the provisions of
this ordinance shall be fined per provisions of Section 3 of this ordinance.

SECTION 5: That this ordinance shall takes effect upon approval.
