CLUSTERING THE BARANGAYS FOR BARANGAY TANODS IN THE MAINTENANCE OF PEACE AND ORDER IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARIBOJOC, PROVINCE OF BOHOL AND PROVIDING FUNDS THEREOF FOR ITS OPERATION.

Preliminary Notes
WHEREAS, peace and order in the community is the dream of the Municipal and Barangay Officials in cooperation of the inhabitants;
WHEREAS, to maintain peace and order in the locality, there is a need for a strong Barangay Tanods to effectively implement the peace and order in the barangay;
WHEREAS, Barangay Tanods in the barangay could not suffice for the maintenance of peace and order in the barangay without the support of other tanods of the neighboring barangays;
WHEREAS, criminals and other persons who can commit crimes in the barangay will escape passing thru the adjacent barangays, hence there is a need to help each other to pursue criminals especially in the combat of illegal drugs, illegal gamblings, robbery and other crimes;
WHEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Bayan in their session assembled;
SECTION 1: Definition of Terms-.
a.) Clustering – Grouping of person or things gathered closely together.
b.) Tanods – A Filipino name of guards or a group of persons or an agents to person in authority who maintains peace and order in the community.
SECTION 2: Objective.-
a) To maintain peace and order in the community or in the barangay.
b) To make the barangay tanods more accessible and effective in providing services to the barangay.
c) To allow barangay tanods of each barangay to render services to other barangay within the cluster area on special occasion and other crises situation.
SECTION 3: Duties and Responsibilities.-
a.) To help maintain peace and order among the cluster barangays in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
b.) To monitor the activities of the inhabitants of the cluster barangays for public safety purposes.
c.) To assist the Tanods of the Cluster barangay especially when there is an activity in the cluster barangays within its jurisdictions.
d.) To undergo trainings in order to be efficient and effective Barangay Tanods.
e.) Barangay Tanods are required to secure written authority from the respective barangay captains before they can render services to other barangays especially during special occasion.
SECTION 4: Other provisions:-
a. The Chief of Police of the Local PNP station has the authority to supervise over the clustered tanods in their respective clusters during the time of crises and other activities of the barangay.
b. There should be an additional honorarium in the amount of Fifty Pesos (Php 50.00) for services rendered per day shall be given to the barangay tanod concern for every service rendered to other barangay during special occasion or emergency situation.
c. That the funding of the additional honorarium for the service of the barangay tanod to other barangay shall come from the Local Government fund of the requesting barangay.
d. That the cluster barangay can only provide two (2) barangay tanods for special assignment in the cluster barangay of its jurisdiction.

SECTION6: Effectivity.- This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.

Let copies be furnished, the Chief of Police, PNP-Maribojoc, Bohol, Barangay Captain of 22 barangays of Maribojoc, Bohol, Chief Tanods of the 22 barangays and the Municipal Mayor, Maribojoc for their guidance and information.
