“AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING PENALTIES FOR ACTS DETERIORATING THE SANITARY CONDITION WITHIN THE MARIBOJOC WHARVES AND IMPROVING RULES AND REGULATIONS THEREOF.”

WHEREAS, it is within the power of the Sangguniang Bayan to protect the environment and impose appropriate penalties for acts which endanger the environment and other activities which results in pollution, acceleration of euthropication of rivers, lakes, and seawater as well or of ecological imbalance;

WHEREAS, our concern is to prevent further deterioration of our environment such as our marine resources due to improper waste disposal.

WHEREAS, this improper disposal of waste throwing of garbage has took parts in this continuing cycle of environment destruction which will survey affect the nutritional status and health of the people.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Province of Bohol, that;

SEC. I- It shall be unlawful for any person or group of person to dispose, litter, place or throw garbage, waste and other filth within the Maribojoc Wharf.

SEC. II- Rules and Regulations.

1. Every residence located at the Maribojoc Wharves and along coastal seashore who have an existing water sealed-toilet shall maintain its cleanliness and renovate the same if badly needed.
2. There shall be a monthly inspection of the Municipal Sanitary inspector of all residence in the wharf for proper disposal of garbage and wastes.
3. There shall be trash cans and other empty plastic container, carton, cellophane bags in every residences.
SEC. III- It shall be the duty of the Barangay Officials of affected barangay to instruct and to informed the concerned residents about the ordinance and to report to the proper authorities concerned of any violations.

SEC. IV- Any violation to the provision of this ordinance shall be fine of:

First Offense Stern Warning
Second Offense P50.00
Third Offense P100.00 an imprisonment of not less than 5 days but not more than one month at the discretion of the court.

SEC. V- Any existing ordinance which runs contrary to the provisions of this ordinance is deemed repealed.

SEC.VI- This ordinance shall be posted on a billboard at a very conspicuous place of the Maribojoc Wharf or any affected areas.

Let copies of this Ordinance be furnished to the residents of San Juan and to the barangay council of affected Barangays for proper guidance and implementation.
