Maribojoc heritage council sponsors photo/drawing tilt
MARIBOJOC – The newly-created Municipal Ecological Heritage, Tourism, Culture and Arts Council (MEHTCAC) is sponsoring three contests which will highlight the culmination of this town’s observance of the National Arts on February 29.
The council came up with the idea during the its second meeting on February 8 at the Sangguniang Bayan session hall here. MEHTCAC chair, Mayor Leoncio Evasco Jr. announced on Thursday last week through Municipal Tourism officer Mary Ann Jabines that the on-the-spot drawing and painting contests and the photo contest will be held at the Maribojoc Sports and Cultural Center on February 29.
The drawing tilt is open to all Maribojocanons in the elementary level where interested participants must submit entries for screening purposed at the Municipal Tourism Office on or before February 22. Only those who will pass the screening shall qualify for the finals on February 29.
The contest organizer will provide drawing material which consists of crayons. For the on-the-spot painting contest, the organizer will also provide free latex paint mixed with Tulco. It is also open to all Maribojocanons in the secondary level. It follows the same schedule of deadline.
Multi-awarded Boholano artist Ric Ramasola chairs the committee for both contests with the assistance of Ponciano Ramasola Jr., and sister, Ma. Angeles Ramasola – Cesar and CooperResabal, another established painter from barangay Toril, this town. The photo contest shall focus on scenic spots of this coastal municipality which are potential eco-tourism development projects.
It is open to all Maribojocanons amateur or professional, except those employed with Ramasola studios. Each contestant is enjoined to submit three entries colored 5”x7” photographs. The participant shall write at the back of each entry the following information: place or location of the photo, date and time taken, and title of the subject.
Submission of the entry is set on February 27 at the Municipal Tourism Office while the judging and awarding of prize will be February 29 at the Maribojoc sports and Cultural Center. (Fred C. Fuertes)
