AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING AN INSPECTION FEE TO ALL NEWLY CONSTRUCTED / RENOVATED/REPAIRED BUILDING IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARIBOJOC, BOHOL.

WHEREAS, there are owners of the newly constructed / renovated / repaired buildings/ houses in the Municipality of Maribojoc, Bohol who failed to secure a building permit from the Office of the Municipal Mayor thru the Office of the Building Official before constructing said edifice;

WHEREAS, per provisions of the Building Code of the Philippines, building / houses to be constructed / renovated, repaired, a building permit shall be secured from the proper authority before its construction be started;

WHEREAS, an inspection by the Municipal Engineer’s Office shall be conducted in order to ensure the safety of the inhabitants of the building / house before its occupancy.

NOW BE IT ORDAINED, by the Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Bohol, that:

SECTION: 1. There shall be an inspection of buildings / houses which are constructed
/ renovated / repaired within the Municipality of Maribojoc by the Municipal Engineer’s Office personnel to ensure the safety of the building / house and its occupants..

SECTION: 2. There shall be an inspection fee of the building / house to be collected
from the owner in the following scheme of payment, to wit:

0 -20 square meters …. P10.00
21 -50 square meters …. 1.50/sq. m.
51 -75 square meters …. 2.00/sq. m.
76 -100 square meters …. 2.50/sq. m.
101-150 square meters …. 3.00/sq. m.
151-200 square meters …. 3.50/sq. m.
201-up square meters …. 4.00/sq. m.

SECTION: 3. It is unlawful for any person or group of persons to construct and occupy a building / house or renovate the same without a benefit of an inspection to be conducted by the Municipal Engineer’s Office before properly occupying said building / house.

SECTION: 4. The inspection shall be conducted by the proper authority to verify the
safety of the building / house in order to protect the inhabitants of said building.

SECTION: 5. Exemption: Those houses which are made of very light materials and
minor repairs are exempted for municipal fee however the Municipal Engineer is hereby adviced to inspect the same.

SECTION: 6. Any violation to the provisions of this ordinance shall be fined in the
amount of not less than P500.00 and not more than P2,500.00 or an imprisonment of not less than five days and more 30 days or both at the discretion of the court.

SECTION: 7. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
