APPROVING THE EXECUTIVE –LEGISLATIVE AGENDA (ELA) FOR THE 2007-2010 FOR THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARIBOJOC, PROVINCE OF BOHOL AS INSTRUMENT FOR MUNICIPAL GOVERNANCE AND DEVELOPMENT.

WHEREAS, the Executive and Legislative branches of the Local Government of Maribojoc, Bohol have formulated the Executive and Legislative Agenda for 2007- 2010 to effectively work for the service of the people so that a harmonious relationship of the Executive and Legislative will be established in the Local Government Unit of Maribojoc;

WHEREAS, in the new trend of local governance, there is a necessity to formulate and approve an Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) for the progress of the community and its people;

WHEREAS, after series of consultations with the LGU line agencies, Municipal Special Bodies, Municipal Development Council and other stakeholders, a Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) was formulated which contains the governance program of the municipality for the period of three years, corresponding to the term of office of elected officials;

WHEREAS, ELA formulation is a participatory process that promotes partnership between local executive and legislative, and the involvement of multi-stakeholders in the identification and programming of 3-year LGU development priorities;

WHEREAS, ELA is an implementation instrument that strengthens utilization of LGU information, other plans and stakeholder agenda; that builds the resources and capacities required to carry out the priorities;

WHEREAS, the ELA, shall be specifically used as a tool for planning and budgeting, for transparency and accountability, for social mobilization for performance measurement, for communication, and for convergence of goals and aspirations of the LGU;

WHEREAS, the ELA has been presented and adopted by the Municipal Development Council during their assembled meeting for the purpose;

WHEREAS, after presenting the formulated ELA to the Sangguniang Bayan, and after thorough consideration, it is found to be very comprehensive and realistic that responds to the priority needs of the constituents;

WHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Sangguniang Bayan in their session duly assembled;

BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved to adopt the “Executive-Legislative Agenda” of the Municipality of Maribojoc as instrument for municipal governance and development for year 2007 to 2010;

BE IT RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this resolution be furnished to the DILG thru channels and other concerned agencies for their information and guidance.
